“The need for an overdue haircut and the want for a fun family activity were combined in the garden. Due to the photo’s perspective, it would seem that the background figure is attacking the subject’s hair with a lawnmower, emphasising our lack of knowledge in the art of hairdressing.”
During the spring of 2020 Historic England ran a competition called “Picturing Lockdown” open to the public - The prize being 100 photos to be inducted into the country’s national archive, in order to document life during the Covid-19 pandemic.
